LIVERPOOL INNOVATION PARK ESTATE WORKS FOR THE HCA

30-Mar-2015

Demolition work has commenced for the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) at the Liverpool Innovation Park off Edge Lane, to undertake essential strategic estate works to enhance the facilities and attraction of the offices on the park.
The design and build contract includes the construction of a new roadway and circa 400 new car parking spaces created after the demolition of redundant buildings.
The demolition works are complicated as this is a busy, highly serviced location. The site is multi-let and in use throughout the project. Vibration control in addition to dust suppression is particularly important due to the existence of sensitive electronic equipment located within adjacent buildings.
The buildings being demolished are:
• Building 51 – vacant 7 storey office building extending to 77,350 ft².
• Building 18 – single storey, pitched roof industrial / storage building extending to 9,328 ft²; and
• Building 22 – single storey building extending to 15,734 ft².

The former home of electronics group Plessey, the Liverpool Innovation Park now houses many successful, mostly Health, Science and IT-related, businesses, who benefit from the site’s excellent communications and resilient internet connections.
