From humble beginnings to becoming a recognised name in construction, Denis has led with vision, integrity, and a deep belief in people. The company culture, shaped over decades, is now rooted in Investors in People, treating every team member as an ambassador of our values and standards.
Our commitment to the industry is reflected in the leadership roles held by our Directors, including two
CECA North West Chairmen, Alan Burns & Adam Onyett.
Denis himself has served the
CPA - Construction Plant-hire Association for over 40 years, as Regional Representative, National Chairman, President, & now Life Member. His dedication to training is unwavering, supporting the Construction Industry Training Board
CITB and championing life skills at Bircham Newton Training Centre.
Today, we continue to invest in our future, training apprentices annually, and maintaining a 20+ year partnership with
Liverpool John Moores University, welcoming placement students as well as sponsoring many on degree apprenticeships.
From rugby pitch to business success, Denis built the business with teammates who shared his values. That spirit of teamwork still drives us today. Joining
New Brighton Rugby Club in 1972, he went on to captain the team, serve as Chairman, President, and become a Life Member. He also represented Cheshire, Staffordshire, English Universities, British Colleges, and was Vice-Captain of the England U21 team.
Denis’ passion for mentoring young talent, has shaped the ethos of D Morgan plc. He’s always believed in choosing the right people, nurturing their skills, and building strong, supportive teams.
Our commitment to the next generation continues through school outreach, career fairs, and a long-standing relationship with education providers. Denis even served as a School Governor, bridging the gap between education & industry.
To mark this milestone, Denis chose to celebrate not just with a party, though we did host a fantastic 3-day event for over 1,500 employees, suppliers, clients, and families, but with something lasting: the creation of our Heritage & Innovation Visitor Centre. This showcases the evolution of construction, embracing technology, innovation, and AI, while honouring our rich history. It’s a space for schools, employees, families, and community groups to explore the future of our industry.
We believe the construction industry has always been and will always be about people. Technology will shape our future, but it’s our people who will define it.
