Tower built to re-home Barn Owls

As a request from one of our Clients in 2018, we were asked to design and build a home for Barn Owls as their regular haunts were scheduled to be demolished to make way for new housing. Wind loading calculations were carried out and in a joint effort with the client we decided to go with manhole rings and access covers infilled with 10mm single-sized aggregate to a height of 5m. The 'manor' was then affixed to the top cover slab. One year later the Barn Owls have moved in to their new home and seem very pleased with their new surroundings.
