🛣 The new A585 Windy Harbour to Skippool bypass in Poulton-le-Fylde, Lancashire was fully opened to traffic recently and it looks great!

Approximately three miles of new road has been constructed around the village of Little Singleton, bringing much-needed capacity to deliver smoother and more reliable journeys 🚗 🚙 🚌 🚚 🚛

The bypass is reducing congestion and improving safety by removing a major bottleneck on the main road to Fleetwood and combating heavy traffic that builds during peak traffic hours 🕔

A huge well done to everyone involved!

The Port Men in Sheds

Our Plant Operators Callum and Callum, have been busy helping the one of our local community schemes with shed building and painting.

For over 13 years, The Men in Sheds scheme has been a significant force in Ellesmere Port, in helping hundreds of older men combat the effects of loneliness and isolation often brought about through retirement and bereavement. National research has shown ‘Men in Sheds’ schemes have resulted in superior health outcomes for those affected by loneliness and isolation.

Help create a new 'Shed-Quarters' for The Port Men in Sheds...

Project Manager Gary  and Graduate Site Engineer Charlie , recently attended a Careers Fair at The University of Bolton , School of Engineering and National Centre for Motorsport Engineering, to engage with future Civil Engineers. It was great to see students with such enthusiasm wishing to forge a successful career in our industry.

Last November, we welcomed University of Bolton  students to our Rivington Chase project to assist with their then current Geotechnical Module.

Project: Central Rhyl Coastal Defences Scheme

What a fantastic effort through the bleak winter months!

The purpose of the scheme is to improve 2km of coastal flood defences in Central Rhyl to protect homes, businesses and the tourist economy from flooding events and coastal erosion well into the future.

The eastern section consists of 1 to 3 tonne rock scour protection to the foundations of the existing defences. The rock is mostly buried beneath the existing beach level and there will be new walkways constructed through the rocks to maintain beach access.

The western section consists of a new stepped revetment, raised and widened promenade and new seawall with improved access via steps and a ramp to the beach.

A huge well done to the Balfour Beatty plc  & D Morgan plc  site team, specialist sub-contractors and the wider supply chain for the progress made to date.
